The Educational and Rehabilitation Center "Dzherelo" (Lviv), which cares for children with special needs, received UAH 30 thousand raised by the participants of the coalition program Fishka. This is the firsr project in a series to be implemented within the framework of the Social Initiative "Fishka. Charity". Any Fishka cardholder can join it by transferring the accumulated points on one of the good causes, listed in detail on the program's website.
The center "Dzherelo" is engaged for 25 years in rehabilitation and social adaptation of children, including those who are in wheelchairs. Now "Dzherelo" support more than 100 such children. The lacquer workshop, working as a part of the center, is adapting the standard wheelchairs for the individual needs of each child. The money collected within the framework of the “Fishka. Charity" Initiative will let buy the necessary components and pay for the work of specialists. So children will get the most comfortable rehabilitation equipment and feel more mobile.
"Each of our clients has their own unique peculiarities of development, and this often requires additional improvement of standard wheelchairs", says Natalya Sirejuk, head of the social projects and development center at Dzherelo. - And the help is always appropriate for us. Social responsibility and solidarity on the part of business motivate us to go further and create new opportunities for children with special needs".
It was for the support of such projects why "Fishka. Charity" was launched. It motivates participants to use the accumulated points in support of important social initiatives in areas such as helping sick and socially vulnerable children, and preserving the environment. We have already started fundraising for 2 new projects.
The first of these is to help the Clown Doctor from the Dnieper, who visits children's health facilities with fun performances for young patients. During the year, clown volunteers make up to 200 performances in hospitals and more than 6,000 children receive their treatment of laughter. The second project is the support of a football team in Odesa organized by the Path to the Home Foundation for children and adolescents who have been in difficult living conditions. Thanks to joint games and training, children who have been in crisis situations, return their faith in friendship, mutual help, find a circle of communication and self-confidence.
"In the future, we will regularly update the list of projects that can receive points. After all, every manifestation of indifference changes our world for the better, and with Fishka program it is simple and easy to do”, notes Yaroslav Polyakova, head of the department of corporate communications of OKKO network, which initiated the program "Fishka. Charity". “If each of the 4 million Fishka users will spend at least a small amount on good causes - the joint result will be spectacular. And we, for our part, are ready to report openly and transparently for each listed hryvnia - on the initiative's website".
