On the eve of the commencement of spring field operations, the OKKO Group opened a new storage facility for CAN (carbamide and ammonium nitrate) liquid mineral fertilizers in Vapnyarka (Vinnytsia region). This was arranged on the territory of a currently operating tanker after the reconstruction of tanks and additional equipment. Last year, the OKKO Group converted two former tank farms – in Yarmolyntsi (Khmelnytsky region) and Nova Lyubomyrka (Rivne region) – into warehouses for dry fertilizers. The company invested more than UAH 11 million to reconstruct these objects.
"Due to our investments in the above-mentioned regions, the infrastructure for providing agricultural producers with mineral fertilizers will significantly improve. This is especially true for small- and medium-sized enterprises, for whom it is unprofitable to buy agrochemicals in wagons or to have own significant fertilizer storage capacity,” says Yuri Kuchabskyi, Vice President of the OKKO Group. “Moreover, our holding has the opportunity to sell them based on a delayed payment, having concluded a forward agreement or agrarian receipt with the buyer."
The Vapnyarka CAN-fertilizers storage can currently store 2.5 thousand tons of liquid fertilizer and, by the end of 2018, the capacity will grow to 8-9 tons. After that, it will become the largest in the Vinnytsia region. The warehouse operates with its own fleet of vehicles, which ensures fast and prompt delivery to the customer. The storehouses in Yarmolyntsi and Nova Lyubomyrka can store 4 thousand dry fertilizers. At the same time, the OKKO Group is currently considering options for expanding its warehouse infrastructure for mineral fertilizers in other regions of Ukraine.
