The renovation of an apartment building at 42 Br. Mikhnovskikh Str. in Lviv, which was seriously damaged as a result of the rocket attack on Lviv in September 2024, has been completed. All the works on its restoration worth UAH 4 million was financed and carried out by OKKO Group.
As part of the city initiative “Patronize a house” OKKO undertook to repair three other houses in the neighborhood (at 36 Mikhnovskikh Street, 20 and 35a Olena Stepanivna Street). The works on these objects are in the final stage.
“The building at 42 Mikhnovskikh Street suffered the most damage among the four we are restoring. While most of the buildings in the shelled area are low-rise, this house has 5 floors and 48 apartments. Accordingly, the scope of work here was the largest. And we aimed to give opportunity to the people to return to their safe homes as soon as possible,” SAID YAROSLAVA POLYAKOVA, HEAD OF OKKO CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT.
The missile fire partially destroyed the corner of the building and an apartment on the top floor. Therefore, the builders had to dismantle the damaged fragments of the load-bearing wall and build a new one in its place, after which it was covered with insulation. In addition, the roof was restored, monolithic floor slabs were reinforced, and new windows and staircase doors were installed to replace the broken ones. In several damaged apartments, internal repairs were carried out, including replacement of heating systems, installation of electrical wiring system, repainting of walls, etc.
“OKKO Group has made the largest contribution to the initiative “Patronize a house” to restore four houses in Lviv that were damaged by a Russian missile strike. This is a powerful manifestation of social responsibility of business, which is crucial for the reconstruction of our city. In total, thanks to the “Patronize a house” initiative 21 companies and 14 charitable organizations raised almost UAH 66 million to restore 20 residential buildings. We are deeply grateful to OKKO and all partners who are helping to rebuild Lviv and support the affected residents,” SAID ANDRIY PAVLIV, HEAD OF INVESTMENT AND PROJECTS AT LVIV CITY COUNCIL.
This is not the first time when OKKO provides assistance to restore the infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling.
The company allocated more than UAH 42 million to rebuild educational institutions in Kyiv region. UAH 10 million was transferred to restore the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv. In cooperation with KSE Foundation, we helped to equip shelters in educational institutions in Kyiv and Khmelnytsky region. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the company has already allocated more than UAH 2.4 billion to support the Armed Forces and rebuild Ukraine.
