At the end of July there was published a unique set of postage stamps, dedicated and drawn by the soldiers of TDF. The initiators of this issue are OKKO network and “COME BACK ALIVE” Foundation. Territorial defence fighters Ruslan Pikhota and Tamara Polishchuk are authors of the sketches. The series were produced as an individual design within the framework of service "Own Stamp" from "Ukrposhta". The sales income of these stamps will be transferred to the account of the initiative "OKO za OKO 2. Let's arm TDF to the teeth", that aims to raise 400 million hryvnias and to provide collective infantry weapons to all brigades of the Territorial defence forces, which are protecting Ukraine right now.
Each stamp sheet is printed in a single copy, so it can become a unique lot for philatelic collection. In addition, “Own stamp” has an individual face value, which allows customers to pay for written correspondence within the country.
Stamps dedicated to TDF can be purchased at the special online auction, which will be held in August by “COME BACK ALIVE” Foundation. In addition, each stamp sheet has a special code with video message from the authors.
"TDF soldiers are people of completely different peaceful professions, who left their homes, jobs, and businesses and joined the rows of the defenders of our independence. The issued stamps are a tribute to their courage. And at the same time, it was a manifestation of their optimism and faith in victory. Our idea was to let artists and illustrators who are currently TDF fighters to develop design of the stamps. And this fact brings additional special value for stamps," commentedYaroslava Polyakova, the Head of OKKO's corporate communications department
One of the authors, Ruslan Pikhota, chose the genre of comics in which he actually creates his sketches and depicted the typical path of TDF soldier - from the beginning of the full-scale war to the future victory. Previously, Ruslan worked in the publishing house for children in Kharkiv. He is not a professional artist, although he liked to draw since his childhood. Being already at the frontline he became seriously interested in art graphics - it helps him to maintain the mood both for himself and his comrades.
Tamara Polishchuk, the author of the second sketch, comes from Kyiv and she is a professional illustrator. Before the enemy invasion, she had already several personal exhibitions but now serves in TDF. Her plot "On the Road" is full of positive and represents not only the fighters of TDF, but also their four-legged friends.
We remind that, since April 11th, OKKO network and “COME BACK ALIVE” Foundation launched the initiative "OKO za OKO 2. Let's arm TDF to the teeth", aiming to purchase 300 pcs of 82 mm mortars, 200 pcs of heavy machine guns and 100 pcs of automatic 40-mm grenade launchers for all the TDF brigades that are currently protecting our state. The total cost of ammunition is UAH 400 million. OKKO network transfers 1 hryvnia from each sold litre of Pulls fuel.
