OKKO network has opened the highest refueling complex in Ukraine
Jul 10, 2018

OKKO network opened the highest in Ukraine 2-level gas station with a 3-storey operator’s  building in Kyiv, at the intersection of Lugova and Bogatyrska streets (Obolon). The total height of the premises is 13 meters. This was possible thanks to the bold architectural decision and the successful location of the filling station. The facility is located at several levels in the center of a major traffic junction and simultaneously serves two main highways that intersect at different altitudes.

The lower level serves the automobiles that move along Bogatyrska Street towards the center of Kyiv from the Great Ring and Vyshgorod direction. On the upper level – Lugova Street - it is convenient to visit for those who go to Obolon from Vynogradar or the Minsk District. "The company was able to design the facility in such a way that it does not change the existing traffic pattern around this site and thus provide the drivers with the most convenient and safe access to the territory of the complex, -says Nazar Turhan, director of the network development of OKKO filling stations network. - Given the limited area and structural features of the facility, during the construction process, we applied a number of innovative European technologies, in particular the method of "wall in the ground" for the construction of the main retaining wall of the complex".

There are shops and cafes on each of the two levels of the filling station, and the middle floor is used for office premises. In total, the interior area of the new gas station is more than 700 square meters. At each of the two levels of the filling station 5 fuel columns operate, one of which with liquefied gas, so it can simultaneously serve 10 drivers. The refueling complex is arranged with observance of the non-barrier standards, in order to have free access to all services, including for people with special needs.

The new gas station will actively use solar energy in its work. 100 panes with a total capacity of 27 kW are placed on the two canopies above the zones of fuel dispensing columns and on the roof of the operator’s building. This is enough to meet the needs of gas filling stations in electricity by 25%.

In addition, the complex also has 3 solar collectors, whose work allows to cover 100% the needs of gas filling stations in hot water during the entire warm season (April-September). In the future, the electricity produced here will be sold on the energy market at a "green tariff".

The filling complex at the intersection of Bogatyrska and Lugova is the 33rd OKKO gas refueling complex in Kyiv and the 57th in the Kyiv region.
