SOLAR POWER PLANTS
The OKKO GROUP has commenced work on designing and building one of the largest solar power plants in Western Ukraine with a capacity of 3.4 MW. It will be located in Radekhiv (Lviv region). Another plant with 3.6 MW capacity is planned for construction in the village of Vendichany near Mohylev-Podylsky town (Vinnytsia region). The total investment in the two projects amounts to about EUR 6 million with an estimated payback period of five years.
The OKKO GROUP already has experience in the field of solar energy. In 2012-2013, several OKKO filling stations in Ukraine’s southern regions were equipped with heliocollectors. This technological solution enabled significant reduction of the expenses on the purchase of electricity on the market for the fuelling stations. Further plans include the installation of solar panels on the buildings of the Galnaftogaz Concern head office in Lviv.
This interest in helioprojects exists not only due to economical, but also environmental considerations, as solar energy is among the cleanest energy sources in the world, not to mention being 100% renewable.
